Confirmation 2022

We are planning our Confirmation Programme for those who would like to be confirmed this year – that is current year 8 and up.

If this is you, please download, save and complete this Microsoft Word form and then email your completed form to Ansti Corellis at anstic2018@yahoo.com so we can contact you.

If you are unable to download and edit the above Word form, you can send an email to Ansti with the details as shown in this pdf version of the form (non-editable).

The new Archbishop, Mark O’Toole, will celebrate the Confirmation on Friday 22 July at 6.30pm at St Brigid’s Church. Further information can be obtained from Canon Matthew at matthew@3churches.org .

We are always looking for people to help run the course. If you think you could help in this important stage of our young people’s formation then please let Canon Matthew know.

New Archbishop to visit us

Archbishop-elect Mark O’Toole will celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation for the 3 Churches at St Brigid’s on Friday 22 July at 6.30pm (his choice of date and time).

As his ministry in our diocese only begins on 20 June, when he is installed as Archbishop in the Cathedral, this means that we will be one of his first pastoral visits.

Confirmation will be for those currently in Year 8 or above, and next week we will publish details of how to enrol and the programme of preparation. So, watch this space…

First Holy Communion

On the next two Saturdays our children will be receiving their first Holy Communion at 10 o’clock Mass at St Brigid’s, having celebrated their first Reconciliation recently at Christ the King. We join with them in celebrating this very special occasion and pray for them and their families for their faith journey from this point on.

New Archbishop

Pope Francis has appointed Bishop Mark O’Toole as Archbishop-elect of Cardiff and Bishop-elect of Menevia. He has been Bishop of Plymouth since 2013. Previously, he was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Westminster in 1990 and served as private secretary to Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor between 2002 – 2008, before his appointment as rector of Allen Hall seminary in 2008. Archbishop-elect O’Toole will become the eighth Archbishop of Cardiff in succession to Most Rev George Stack, who has been Archbishop of Cardiff since 2011. The installation will take place in the Cathedral on 20 June 2022, the feast of the Welsh martyrs Saints Julius and Aaron. We look forward to his arrival among us and remember him and Cardiff and Menevia dioceses in our prayers.
