Welcome Bishop Tom Burns!
Dear friends and parishioners,
Over the next three Sundays we welcome Bishop Tom Burns to help us while Fr Peter and Fr Matthew have some time off.
Born in Northern Ireland, he was educated and eventually joined the Marist Order. In 1986 he became a Chaplain to the Forces, eventually being ordained Bishop of the Forces in 2002.
Six years later he became Bishop of Menevia until his retirement in 2019.
We give him a warm welcome!

Grand prayers
Dear friends and parishioners
Monday is the feast of Sts Joachim and Anne, the parents of Mary and therefore the grandparents of Jesus himself. So, it would be a good day to pray for our own grandparents – and grandchildren! Sadly, all four of my own grandparents were already deceased when I was born, but I will still pray for Annie and Tim, for Dan and Edie. What about you?

Sts John Lloyd and Philip Evans remains coming to Cardiff
Dear friends and parishioners
You may have read in the media that bones found in Jesuit care are now believed to be those of our Cardiff martyrs, Sts John Lloyd and Philip Evans. Archbishop George hopes that the remains will come to Cardiff in the autumn, and some will be enshrined in the altar recently installed in the cathedral. Their feast day we will observe on Monday this week. St John Lloyd and St Philip Evans pray for us.
